Continuing its magnificent run at the box office, Prabhas starrer ‘Saaho‘ ended its first week with excellent figures. The magnum opus sees Prabhas on the silver screen after a gap of two years, post his mega-blockbuster ‘Baahubali‘ franchise. The Sujeeth directorial has Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. The film released in four languages – Hindi, Telegu, Tamil and Malayalam across 6000 plus screens.

Despite not being a holiday release, the Hindi version of the film witnessed a massive opening, however, the numbers were cut short after the delay in the arrival of the print led to the cancellation of morning shows in many places. But the Prabhas starrer compensated it with a massive first-weekend collection. The film held well on Monday but dropped on subsequent weekdays. However, ‘Saaho’ crossed Rs 100 crore mark and managed to put up an excellent first-week figure of Rs 115 crore.

With this figure, ‘Saaho’ (Hindi) has clocked the fourth highest first-week collections of the year behind Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ and Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Mission Mangal’. The action-thriller has secured a spot among the biggest Hindi films of this year and has actually beaten most of the star cast films.

‘Saaho’ has beaten Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari‘ which released earlier this year to achieve the fourth spot on the list. The war drama had netted around Rs 97 crore in its first week. Despite critical review and emotions not favouring the Prabhas starrer, the audience has flocked into the theatres to see the action thriller.

Here are the top first weeks of 2019 –

Film Release Date First Week collection
Bharat June 5, 2019 Rs 156.71 crore
Kabir Singh June 21, 2019 Rs 133.13 crore
Mission Mangal August 15, 2019 Rs 116.68 crore
Saaho August 30, 2019 Rs 115 crore
Kesari March 21, 2019 Rs 97.35 crore
Gully Boy February 14, 2019 Rs 93.50 crore

The film which released on August 30 was earlier scheduled to hit the screen on the big holiday of Independence Day, however, was later shifted to avoid an overcrowded clash at the box office.
